Berkeley Mills Ballpark located at 69 Balfour Road in Hendersonville, North Carolina, has been a cornerstone of the local community since its establishment in 1949.
Built as the home field for the Berkeley Spinners, a baseball team comprised of workers from the local textile mill, the venue holds a special place in the hearts of Hendersonville residents, not only for its role in local sports but also for its contribution to the community's heritage. In 2008, the Kimberly Clark Corporation, the successor to Berkeley Mills, donated the ballpark and surrounding park area to the City of Hendersonville. This generous act ensured the preservation and continued use of this valuable community space.
Known locally as 'The Orchard', the ground's historical significance was nationally recognized in 2016 when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. As we approach the 75th anniversary of this beloved stadium the recognition serves as a testament to its enduring legacy and the countless memories it has hosted over the decades.
Today, Berkeley Mills is home to the Hendersonville Honeycrisps. It continues to be a lively venue for baseball, hosting games and events that draw fans and families from across the region.
